The result of good communication is mutual trust and understanding.

A good facilitator broadens the horizons of those taking part and opens up new perspectives on the situation. What was previously taken as read becomes open to doubt and can become the subject of further reflection. A facilitator involves more than just chairing and facilitating the discussion. He or she also has to structure the dialogue process and visualise the procedural sequences and outcomes. As a meetings facilitator my aim is to understand what those involved want to communicate and to speak their language. In this way, I can help the dialogue partners to bridge the gap between them, allowing an open and interactive atmosphere to develop.
